Weekend Childcare Teacher/Teacher Assistant

Overview Whimsy Kids is seeking a fun-loving, enthusiastic and knowledgeable teacher / teacher assistant for our boutique Reggio Emilia inspired preschool in the heart of Frederick, Md. Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Preschool Teacher, where your passion for nurturing young minds will inspire a lifelong love of learning. You will supervise activities, develop engaging curricula, and foster a safe, inclusive environment that promotes growth and curiosity. Age group in care would range from 2yr- 12yr. This is a weekend role from 9:30am -5:30pm Opportunity to bring your kids to work. Responsibilities

• Develop and Engage in fun and exciting activities
• Maintain a fun and positive environment for children .
• Provide a safe, inclusive and healthy environment for children under supervision
• Maintain warm and positive interactions with staff, children and parents.
• This role is a fun and relaxed part-time job. With potential for full-time.

Experience

• 90hr MSDE Child Development and Preschool Curriculum Certification
• Proven classroom management experience within early childhood education settings, including preschool or daycare environments
• Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and working with children across various developmental stages
• Experience working with children requiring special education or early intervention services is highly desirable
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners
• Prior involvement in private school settings or daycare programs
• Familiarity with engaging children in play-based learning and kindergarten readiness for young learners
• Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management strategies, and best practices in toddler care and preschool teaching methods

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20.00 - $25.05 per hour
