Weekend Dog Walker & Pet Sitter

Location: Birmingham, Troy, Royal Oak, Bloomfield and surrounding service area Schedule: Saturdays and Sundays required. Additional weekday hours may be available. About Us Bloomfield Pet Care is a professional pet care company committed to providing dependable, high quality care to pets and their families. Our team works together throughout the day to care for multiple pets across our service area, while maintaining consistent standards for safety, communication, reliability, and attention to detail. We are currently looking for an experienced Weekend Pet Sitter / Dog Walker who lives in or very close to our service area and is available to work every Saturday and Sunday. This position is best suited for someone who has previous professional experience working for a pet sitting or dog walking company and understands the importance of following detailed client instructions, communicating with a team, and providing reliable care on a consistent schedule. Weekend schedules can be more complicated and our weekend staff member must understand the Weekend Schedule Saturday and Sunday availability is required. Weekend pet sitting schedules will typically be a split shift, with visits scheduled during two general time periods:

• Morning through early afternoon
• Later afternoon through evening

There may also be opportunities for additional weekday visits depending on your availability and our scheduling needs. Because our clients rely on us while they are away from home, weekend availability must be dependable and consistent. What You'll Do

• Provide professional pet sitting visits for dogs, cats, and other household pets
• Feed pets and refresh water according to client instructions
• Walk dogs of varying sizes, ages, and energy levels
• Provide playtime, companionship, and enrichment
• Clean litter boxes and complete other routine pet care tasks
• Carefully follow detailed written instructions for each household and pet
• Complete accurate visit reports and communicate through our pet care app
• Communicate promptly and professionally with managers and other team members
• Work together with the team to provide seamless coverage throughout the weekend
• Adapt to schedule changes while maintaining reliable, high quality care

Requirements

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

• Available to work Saturdays and Sundays on an ongoing basis
• Previous professional experience working for a pet sitting or dog walking company
• Live in our service area
• At least 18 years old and a high school graduate
• Able to pass a federal background check
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Smartphone and comfort using apps and messaging throughout the workday
• Comfortable driving between client homes
• Comfortable working independently while remaining part of a team
• Able to follow written instructions closely and consistently
• Dependable, punctual, and responsive
• Comfortable caring for dogs and cats of different sizes, ages, personalities, and energy levels
• Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of Michigan weather conditions
• Willing to commit to a long term position (12+ months)

Important Schedule Information Hours will vary from week to week based on client needs. This position is intended primarily as a supplemental income position rather than a traditional 9 to 5 job.
