As a Weekend Hospice Registered Nurse, your main responsibility will be to deliver comprehensive and timely hospice care to patients and their families during evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Triage patient needs over the phone until an in-person assessment can be scheduled.
  • Respond urgently and appropriately to crisis calls from patients and families after hours.
  • Conduct initial nursing evaluations to determine eligibility for hospice services during patient visits within forty-eight (48) hours of referral, if assigned.
  • Perform after-hours visits, including admissions, death visits, recertifications, and routine care.
  • Assess and identify the physical, psychosocial, emotional, and environmental needs of patients and families, and reassess every fifteen (15) days.
  • Document patient issues, care goals, interventions, and responses to hospice care comprehensively.
  • Provide care in any home situation, regardless of the patient's age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current unrestricted RN licensure in the state of practice.
  • A valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle or public transportation.

State-Specific Requirements:

  • MS: At least one year of full-time experience as an RN. Alternatively, three (3) years of full-time clinical experience as an LPN may substitute for the one-year RN experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • 1+ years of clinical experience.

The pay for this role ranges from $67,104 to $100,656 annually, based on full-time employment and various factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.
