Junior Museum Guide – Part-Time Department: Programs Location: Bronx, NY Employment Type: Part-Time Compensation: $18 per hour Schedule: Part-time; hours vary based on program and operational needs. Saturday availability is required. Shifts may be scheduled during regular Museum operating hours. Additional hours may be available based on program needs and employee availability. Reports To: Visitor Services Manager and Associate Curator of Museum Experiences About the Bronx Children's Museum At the Bronx Children's Museum, we nurture the wonder of childhood, fostering curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning through interactive STEAM experiences that celebrate the diverse cultures of the Bronx. Position Summary The Junior Museum Guide supports the Museum's programs and visitor experience by engaging children and families in hands-on Arts and STEAM activities, storytimes, exhibits, and community programs.This is an entry-level, active, and hands-on position for someone who enjoys working with children, learning new skills, and creating welcoming experiences for diverse families and visitors. Schedule & Work Environment This is a part-time position with hours based on program and operational needs. Saturday availability is required, as weekend programming is a core part of the Museum's operations.Work hours generally align with the Museum's regular public operating hours. Employees are required to remain on-site after closing (typically 5:00 p.m.) to complete assigned closing duties, including program cleanup, breakdown, and organization of materials. Additional hours may be available based on program needs and employee availability.This position is physically active and requires frequent movement throughout Museum and program spaces, including standing, walking, and assisting with program setup and breakdown.
